My latest book, Radio Silence,  is a memoir that spans three phases of the my life in Sri Lanka, England and the USA. The poems and an essay process local and global events as a citizen, immigrant, photographer and writer. A dominant theme is that of border crossings, and experiences that tend to be buried in radio silence.

Chat Republic is the outcome of eight years of covering the growth of digital media, and 18 years of work on the intersection of technology and society.

Social media has been co-opted by activists in the middle east, and embedded into customer service, diplomacy, education, politics, space exploration and nearly activity we might be involved in –even religion!

How should we operate within this giant speech bubble? The book makes a case for why we need more listening spaces in our Republic of Chatter, and how we could make our hybrid conversations more authentic.
